Planting Seeds in Your Waiting Season

To all our readers, I hope you know that your waiting season won’t go to waste. Sometimes our timelines don’t always match up to what we hoped for - the relationship, the business opportunity, the success we expected, but that doesn’t meant things are happening. Before anything blooms, our most meaningful transformations and growth happens in the season where we’re waiting for our blessings to be inbound, which may not always be visible to us. Remember that it’s all not what it seems. We can’t control the plans we have, but through intentional actions we will reap what we sow. What are you nurturing right now in your life that no one else can see?

Not All Growth Is Visible

Sometimes your delay is part of the preparation for what is about to unfold. As you wonder when you’ll meet your future partner or land your next job opportunity… your own journey of growth is taking place and you are being shaped. Growth won’t always be loud, sometimes it looks like obedience, patience and resilience as life gradually changes by strengthening you in ways that will matter in the future. At present, I feel like I’m experiencing a waiting season, and as uncomfortable as it’s been at times, I can acknowledge the growth of having introspection and peace in knowing that I am making better decisions for my future. Your waiting season, may be asking you to take time to heal from old hurt or practice moments of solitude. Reflect on what this looks like for you.

Keeping Planting & Sowing

Everything you do during this season matters. From each small action you take, it can lead to something so special, as you nurture yourself and work on you. As you sow, you might be focused on gradual habit changes - fitness routine, more frequent quiet time, skill development, leaning into therapy and the space you create for yourself. Even when you can’t see results straight away, keep on sowing because although it may seem that you’re falling behind, you’re planting roots and creating a solid foundation.

In my waiting season, I have planted seeds of personal growth, boundaries and discipline with routine. This was especially important, as I transitioned to working for myself. It was an uncomfortable shift, but with patience and time, I have gradually found my rhythm and have begun to see the shoots of all of my inner work. Nothing happens overnight, but once I gracefully surrendered control, it’s been a much more meaningful experience for me. Stay consistent with the things that matter most to you.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up
— Galatians 6:9 NIV

Trust The timing

You may look at others and ask - why them and not me?. This can be a default for some of us, but I encourage you to not look at other people’s lives as you continue to bloom. Comparison is the thief of joy and what you see rarely tells the full story. The reality is that everything beautiful unfolds at it’s own pace. In our waiting season, trust the timing of all that’s meant for you and learn to release control of the outcomes. The slower pace we sometimes experience is preservation from something that’s not meant for you or rushing to the finish line. Stay rooted in who you’re becoming.

Waiting is not weakness, it allows for wisdom. Your waiting season is a season of preparation and sanctification. You never know when things will take place, but be prepared as your life continues to unfold. Never lose hope as you wait, keep on holding onto joy and gratitude. Trust that the work that you’re doing in your life now matters. Continue to tend to your vision and nurture the things you care about. For all things, are only by His divine timing for our lives. The harvest season will come, just not on demand.

Pause & Reflect…

Am I honouring the season I’m in, or rushing into the next one?
